E20 compatible bikes and scooters in India
Two-wheelers built from April 2023 are E20 material-compliant. Bikes and scooters sold new in India today are E20-ready; older ones follow the same manufacturing-date rule that applies to cars.

Why two-wheelers deserve a closer look
Motorcycles and scooters use proportionally more rubber and polymer parts per unit of engine size than cars, so for older two-wheelers the caution about ethanol affecting seals, hoses and fuel-system components over time is worth taking seriously. For newer, E20-ready models it is a non-issue — they are built for the fuel.
Brand-by-brand notes
Hero MotoCorp (Splendor, HF Deluxe, Passion, Glamour, Xtreme, Xpulse): current models are built to the latest norms. Hero has said its newer models are E20-ready.
Honda (Activa, Shine, SP125, Unicorn, Hornet, Dio): current two-wheelers meet the standard.
TVS (Jupiter, Ntorq, Raider, Apache, Ronin) and Bajaj (Pulsar, Platina, Avenger, Dominar): current petrol models are E20-ready. Bajaj’s Freedom 125 is a CNG motorcycle — on CNG, ethanol is not a factor at all.
Royal Enfield (Classic 350, Bullet 350, Hunter 350, Meteor, Himalayan, 650 twins), Yamaha (FZ, MT-15, R15, Fascino, Aerox), Suzuki (Access, Gixxer, Burgman) and KTM (Duke, RC): current models are built to the current standard.
Electric scooters from Ola, Ather, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida have no petrol engine, so ethanol blending does not apply to them at all.
How to check your bike
Use the manufacturing date on the frame/VIN plate or the registration certificate, look for an “E20” marking near the fuel filler, and consult the owner’s manual. If your two-wheeler predates April 2023 and you want certainty, an authorised service centre can confirm it for your exact model.
